First And Only by Peter Flannery

5 Stars From Me!

First and Only

Once you get past the pretty naff use of fonts on the cover and the whole self publish look and feel of this book you will soon find yourself turning pages at a rate of knots as the story pulls you in.

I read this as part of a book group and wasn’t especially looking forward to it but boy was I wrong – you know that whole thing about not judging a book by it’s cover? Well, that.

Psimon is an intriguing and believable character, I warmed to him immediately and felt compelled to read more, the whole physic concept fascinates me and I love the way that he accepts his powers.

I have to confess to rolling my eyes when I read the back cover blurb about the ex SAS man but I was wrong again as he was a excellent character too!

I read this book in two sittings, it would have been one but I literally HAD to get to an appointment so had to reluctantly put the book down. It is a gripping and engaging thriller that opens up a who world of ‘what if’.

If you like thrillers and are even mildly curious about psychic powers you will love this book. In fact I think most people would love it as it is such a clever and well constructed story, with characters that you care about and fast paced race to its conclusion.

I am still confused by the message he writes at the end though – if anyone has any ideas or theories as to what that is all about I’d love to hear them.
