I can’t remember the last time I physically reacted to a book so much as this one. I read most of it either shaking my head or murmuring ‘no no no no no’!
Such is the power of a story. This is a simple yet clever tale and I can understand why it was made into a film. It feels bad enough to consider Christine’s point of view, waking up every single day not remembering who you were, where you were, what has happened in your life, and having to re-learn it all day after day after day.
But for her husband, wow, how soul-destroying. From his point of view, I just can’t understand how he could keep going and putting himself through that again and again and again.
So why does he. And can she trust him, or her doctor, or herself? Somewhere in this picture, there’s an unreliable narrator, but who, and why?
This is a great psychological thriller that keeps the reader questioning everything and everyone.
Blurb: Memories define us.
So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep?
Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love – all forgotten overnight.
And the one person you trust may only be telling you half the story.
Welcome to Christine’s life.
