I have loved reading my whole life, it is certainly a form of escapism for me and I thank every single author out there for the time, creativity, lonely hours, self-doubt and perseverance that it takes to not only write a book but then run the gauntlet of getting it published.
I always have two books on the go, one on audible that I listen to when I am driving and one that I am physically reading either on kindle or an actual book. With regards to the e-books/physical books debate I LOVE the look of books, the feel of them, the smell of them, I love having a bookshelf, but, I find it is often easier to read on a kindle – especially with the paper-white technology that stuff is amazing.
For audio books this year I have been working my way through the Nikki Galena series by Joy Ellis – I am absolutely hooked!
And, in no particular order, My Top 5 Reads of 2024:
William by Mason Coile
Creepy, sick, disturbed, I absolutely loved it!
The Chamber by Will Dean
I still haven’t quite figured out the ending of this claustrophobic read.
Last One Left Alive by Michael Wood
Another superb installment in the Matilda Darke series.
Leave No Trace by Jo Callaghan
Inspired concept, artfully delivered.
Beautiful People by Amanda Jennings
Arrogance and the desperate need to fit in ooze from within these pages.

I’m reading The Chamber right now. I’m about halfway through and I really wanted to go to bed early last night but it just didn’t happen. I just don’t know what direction this book is headed – I hope to the surface 🙂
