I ‘read’ this one via Audible, as I have done with a lot of Steve Cavanagh’s books, mainly because I absolutely LOVE the narration on the Eddie Flynn books.
Like all the books before it, Two Kinds of Stranger, is perfect. There is not a single fluff or filler chapter, every single word is there to enhance the story.
So many great characters in this one, Elly herself is a delight. She’s a beautiful TikTok influencer, known for her #RandomActsofKindness #RAK and so when her perfect life tumbles down, the world gets to watch.
But she’s the real deal, she doesn’t just do #RAK for likes, it’s who she is and that also might just turn out to be her salvation. Or will it? Fortunately for her, she’s heard about Eddie Flynn and makes the smart decision of asking to be represented by him.
Logan is another favourite, he’s a bit of a bad guy but we are all a sucker for a bad guy aren’t we… And it’s always a joy to follow Bloch and Lake.
In Two Kinds of Stranger, Eddie finds his family at the heart of a parallel case and however much he wants to he knows he can’t represent them himself, this time he has to have faith in his team.
I’ve loved all of the Eddie Flynn books and somehow the series just keeps on getting better. My thanks to Steve Cavanah, NetGalley and Headline publishing for an ARC in return for an honest review.
Blurb:
Elly Parker had everything.
Perfect husband. Perfect apartment. Perfect friends and the perfect job.
As an internet celebrity – famed for her random acts of kindness – everyone knew it.
So when a betrayal causes her to lose it all, millions of people are watching.
But even at her lowest, Elly will always help someone in need.
Which makes her the perfect target for a sadistic game.
Because as she soon learns, you can never trust a stranger – and a seemingly random encounter plunges her into a nightmare worse than she ever imagined.
The only person she can turn to is conman turned trial lawyer Eddie Flynn, who must take on a case where nothing is what it seems. With the most cruelly ingenious mind manipulating events from the shadows, everyone is in danger – including Eddie and his family.

Thanks for the heads up that the narration is good on the audiobooks. I may listen to this series.
