I love discovering a debut and this one from Nina Craig is a fabulous introduction to the PI Alison Greene series.
The private investigator element brings a different dynamic to the standard police/crime thriller and I enjoyed following her attempts to solve a missing persons case. Her dogged determination to uncover the truth was exactly what I’d want to see from someone finding a lost loved one of mine.
Her relationship with DS Felix Henry was a nice undercurrent through the story. He was a superb character – so deeply flawed and troubled to an almost cliched point of view, but I love that in a lead detective!
Alison has to dig deep once it becomes clear that her simple little missing persons case is just the tip of a far reaching iceberg of terror, and she shows a depth of mettle that is clearly going to make her a very interesting person to follow in future books – of which I hope there will be many.
My thanks to the author, Rachel’s Random Resources for a place on this blog tour.
Blurb: When a body is found in the woods, more will soon be uncovered, and DS Felix will need to find the killer before another victim is claimed.
Private Investigator, Alison Greene, has been contacted to find a missing person, by the victims elderly father, but these two cases may be intertwined and working together will be the only way to solve this case.
