There’s clever, and there’s twisty, and then there’s this. Clare Mackintosh has nailed it with this book – as Missy Elliott put it so well ‘Is it worth it? Let me work it. I put my thang down, flip it and reverse it’ because the minute I thought I knew what was going on, the story flipped on its head. And then again, and again, oh and once or twice more for luck.
This is a sublime example of a psychological thriller, nay, a masterclass if you will. To say I was hooked is the understatement of the century.
A fabulous story, credible characters, and a plot that will blow your mind.
My thanks to the author, Netgalley and HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction for an ARC in return for an honest review.
