I listened to this book on audible and find it really hard to rate as although I absolutely loved parts of it, and enjoyed the whole podcast element, I did find it dragged a little in places and essentially could have benefited from being shorter/tighter.
I feel mean saying that as there were sections that had me absolutely gripped but overall I think it just left me wanting a little more – not more length obvs but more ompf.
Brilliant characters – Christy and the team were great to follow, the nonsense with her ex-husband and his floozy didn’t really add much but it was enjoyable.
The hither to unsolved brutal murder of Lexi Gordian was an excellent theme for the Hindsight podcast – especially with her charismatic father being the lead suspect who many thought had evaded capture for his crime.
As Christy and the team chase down the facts and get close to the truth they start being threatened – but who by – and can Christy trust the feelings that she is developing for prime suspect Gordian or is he that most dangerous of things – a charming man…
Personally wasn’t a fan of the ending and listening intently waiting for the ‘other shoe to drop’. However, I enjoyed the narration and on the whole the premise of the story was great – so if you don’t mind a slightly slower paced thriller then it is definitely worth a listen.
Blurb: Christy Ward is the lead producer of Hindsight, a true crime podcast, and she has stumbled across an unresolved triple murder case that will make the perfect next feature.
Sixteen years ago, the police were convinced that they had found their killer. But the case was unexpectedly shut down, it never went to trial and their main suspect walked free.
Will Christy and her team be able to solve the case, or will they be silenced too…
