I really wanted to give this more stars and the first two-thirds of the book certainly warranted them. However that last third was just a bit daft. Much like Apartment 19.
I loved the build up and the relationships between the guys. The painful recognition of the way life affects friendships was brilliantly observed and recounted.
The thought of camping scares me anyway so the author didn’t have far to go to scare me… but all joking aside, there were several parts which I found genuinely scary and the tension built nicely as the story progressed. However, for me, it was let down by the latter parts.
